Wehrenberg Theatres implemented a new “zero tolerance” cell phone policy Friday, Sept. 9.
People attending movies at their theaters must put their cell phones on vibrate and not use them throughout the entire movie.
If they are using their phones during the movie, they will be asked to leave without a refund.
Although it started last week, the policy will go into full effect 30 days after the announcement.
In the meantime, previews will be shown before movies and brochures will be handed out to inform movie-goers of this new policy. Signs will also be posted throughout the theatres.
Although this policy was put in place to make people enjoy the movies more, junior Makenzie Hackman thinks otherwise.
“I think [the policy] is a little extreme. I think people should be allowed to use their phones as long as they are not being overly distracting,” she said.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
