Each year, the Rockwood School District presents a Rockwood Outstanding Service in Education (ROSE) award to staff and volunteers that have impacted Rockwood students and the school community during the year.
The 2010-2011 school year marks the 22ndyear for the ROSE award. According to the nomination form, its mission is to honor “individuals who showed excellence of character performance, leadership and service to the Rockwood School District.”
Nominees can be chosen for a variety of reasons, including the amount of time devoted to their job or an impact they had on a child’s life.
There are up to 15 recipients selected each year, and previous ROSE winners are not eligible. Nomination sheets are available outside the Welcome Center, and individuals can submit up to two different nominations.
You can also nominate online at www.rockwood.k12.mo.us/rose.
The form requires those submitting the nomination to write 100-800 words explaining why their candidate should be considered for the ROSE Award. They can choose to reveal their name or keep their nomination confidential.
Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 26, and winners will be notified on March 1.
