On Wednesday, Oct. 19 the mural that formerly decorated the lower flex hallway was painted over white. A new mural will soon take its place.
The gym hallway and hallways leading to the basement have also been painted. These murals feature athletes of various sports at Lafayette.
Activities Director Steve Berry is in charge of the mural project. He started it a year ago with Lynne Beseau, a retired art teacher from Hazelwood Central. Together, they planned the design and subject of the murals.
Berry said the mural in the lower flex hallway will be a Lancer on a horse breaking through the wall. Beseau and Berry also plan to do more murals around the school.
