On Friday Nov. 12, the LHS library is sponsoring “National Gaming Day @ Your Library.”
This is the first year that the event has been held. It was created by American Library Association as a way to get teens and young adults to come to the library and see all that it has to offer.
The official day is Saturday Nov. 13, but since the library isn’t open, Lafayette will be holding its very own game day on Nov. 12.
Librarian Nichole Ballard-Long said, “The goal is to get people to see how cool the library really is. Then, while they’re here, they may decide to check out a book too.”
Participants are invited to bring their own games, or play some of the games that the library provides.
“We will have a Wii, a Super Nintendo 64 and a Gamecube, along with various board games and card games,” Ballard-Long said.
The electronic games will be projected on the library Smartboards and TVs throughout the day, so students can visit the library and play anytime during the school day.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
