LHS participates in National Bring Your Kid to Work Day for the first time

On Apr. 25, 46 Lafayette staff members brought their kids to school with them. This is the first time LHS has done this event, and it was organized by Principal Karen Calcaterra and librarian Jane Lingafelter. Multiple activities were held throughout the day to welcome the guests, including donuts, painting, stories, a taste test and scooter games.

Language arts teacher Donald Kreienkamp brought his two sons, Isaiah (left) and Ari (right) to Lafayette's first annual Bring Your Kid to Work Day. Secretary Amy Danner also brought her son Ryan (middle). Ari said he was excited to miss school because he didn't have to take the MAP test.

Junior Julia Teves has been reaserching about child grooming since freshman year when she decided to present on it for her ALARP presentation. This underlying global issue inspired Teves to further her impact and led her to be a speaker at the TEDxClayton HS Youth event.
