In honor of the people who died during the 9/11 terror attack that occurred 20 years ago, Lafayette hosted it’s annual Patriot Day Ceremony the morning of Sept. 10 by the football field. Students and staff as well as local military recruiters, veterans and first responders were invited to attend.

The event included a flag performance by ROTC, a musical performance of the national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, from band students and Vox Solus’s rendition of America The Beautiful.

Fine Arts Department Chair Lauren Sakowski and Cheryl Hermach, language arts teacher, were both in Lafayette during the attack.
