The Last Time I... Went Snowboarding

Lafayette is the home of many athletic students, yet to some snowboarding is not thought of as a sport. However, Maddie Meyer, sophomore, begs to differ.

For the past three years Meyer has gone snowboarding. As a part of her new tradition, she plans on hitting the slopes every year.

“I went like two years ago with my dad, so now he just takes me every year. I guess I just really like going down, like the feeling of gliding down the snow and being in the cold,” Meyer said.

Every time she has been snowboarding, Meyer always goes with her family. Almost like a miniature family vacation.

“My first first snowboarding experience was when I was taking lessons with my sister Molly, it was pretty cool because it was just us and the trainer,” Meyer said.

The Meyer family has not been able to continue these traditions due to Hidden Valleys late open.

However, the family will get to continue their family traditions. Hidden valley will be opening for the winter on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 9 a.m.
