Out and About: Fitz’s acts as a St. Louis favorite
Fitz’s offers a fun treat in the heart of the Loop
January 25, 2016
Fitz’s Root Beer has become a signature of the St. Louis area. Their first root beer was made in 1947, but now they offer much more than just this drink. However, as known and anticipated their root beer is, there are many more entrees and soda options available at Fitz’s that may come as a surprise.
In the heart of the Delmar Loop, Fitz’s prime location offers a place to eat after a long day of shopping in unique stores or taking in a movie at the Tivoli Theatre. I would recommend almost any of the burgers available at Fitz’s.
When I went to Fitz’s, I took that advice and ate the Pepper Jack Burger. The slightly spicy pepper jack cheese matched with the creamy bourbon mayo makes for the perfect bite of food that makes my mouth water at the thought.
It would be a miss if I did not discuss the floats that makes Fitz’s so unique. They, of course, have the classic root beer float with their own root beer, but they also have some options that are not as well know.
These different floats include the S’more Float that has all the of fixings for the perfect campfire dessert. And for those peanut butter lovers, the Peanut Butter Cup float is made with cream soda, chocolate ice cream and chips, and a healthy helping of peanut butter.
If you’re in the Loop area with a craving for a rare treat, check out this St. Louis classic.
