Out and About: Cheese-ology puts an interesting twist on an American classic
Upon hearing of Cheese-ology, I was immediately on board. Everyone loves basic Macaroni & Cheese…and I’m a sucker for a dish full of savory flavor. The combination of the two immediately got my attention.
Besides its three salad options, the menu’s main dish options consists exclusively of extravagant renditions Macaroni & Cheese. The 16 different options include dishes such as 4-Cheese, Black and Bleu, Spinach and Artichoke, and my personal favorite, Bacon Bacon. The menu offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options as well.
The fancy menu comes at an incredibly reasonable price, too. Regular sized entrees are priced at the reasonable range of $7-$8.50, with large entrees between $12-$14.50
While Cheese-ology is fairly far from West County (its located in the Delmar Loop in University City), the trek down is well worth it. Cheese-ology also delivers in areas around St. Louis city.
Though the concept of their unique spin on an already fantastic yet basic dish grabbed my interest, the outer appearance of the establishment did not. Based on the concept of what they produced, I expected an extravagant atmosphere to go along with it. The restaurant itself is very small and almost fast-food looking. It’s almost invisible in the vibrancy of the Loop.
However, despite its less than exciting appearance, I still rate it an 11/10.
