Out and About: All signs point to 6 North Café

My older sister came home from school one late August day of her junior year ecstatic upon her hiring at a new café: 6 North.

After my first reaction of “Yes! Free food for me,” I wondered what the new place was like. Was it just a spinoff of other cafés like St. Louis Bread Company?

But once I sunk my teeth into my first Honey Chicken Wrap, I knew my assumption had been wrong.

Six North Café is nothing like I have ever experienced in a café setting. The food is high end and relatively priced.

It is an independent, family owned business located in Ballwin and Downtown St. Louis. After the first steps within the café, the sense of family and community hits you just as hard and pleasantly as the aroma of amazing, healthy and tasty food.

I may be a little bit biased due to the fact that my sister is now a manger there, but the food (and the delicious smoothies and Kaldi’s coffee) has kept me coming back for two years now.

Each location offers different experiences: setting, menu, and hours of operation.

The downtown café located in the Downtown Peabody Plaza at 701 Market Street and is open Monday- Friday 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Whereas the Ballwin location,  located at  14438  Clayton Road, is open Mon.-Fri. 6a.m.-8p.m. and Sat.-Sun. 7 a.m.-8 p.m. and also has a drive-thru.

The menu varies from wraps that can be turned into salads (and vice versa) as well as regular café sandwiches, soups, and a broad selection of other items.
