Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”
Nine AP exams will transition to digital format in 2025, additional six in 2026

Club Spotlight: YoungLife

At+the+first+YoungLife+gathering+on+Thursday%2C+February+28%2C+2013%2C+the+new+club+gathered+for+a+photo.
At the first YoungLife gathering on Thursday, February 28, 2013, the new club gathered for a photo.

With fun-filled Thursday nights of singing, dancing, being obnoxious, and just hanging out with friends, YoungLife is the ideal club to join if you’re looking for a fun group with religion involved.

According to the YoungLife website, “Young Life brings the good news of Jesus Christ into the lives of adolescents with an approach that is respectful of who kids are and hopeful about who they can be.”

With YoungLife being a popular and well-known club worldwide that teaches both Christian religion and incorporates interesting activities to bring people together, initiator Henry Liscio wanted kids at Lafayette to join in the fun.

“YoungLife is a world wide Christian organization that I had in my old high school that I thought would be perfect for Lafayette,” Liscio said.

Liscio also said that YoungLife had a great impact on his life and he wanted to share it with kids at Lafayette.

“When I learned that my classmate Joe Howard had YoungLife in his old high school too we started talking and decided to start it here. Eventually Emily and Morgan Blair jumped on board,” he said.

Emily Blair, another initiator of YoungLife, said, “YoungLife is about building relationships with classmates at Lafayette, and getting to know your mentors that you can talk to about your high school experience and your relationship with God.”

Strengthening your relationship with God isn’t the only thing that kids at YoungLife do.

“YoungLife is literally an hour of chaos: singing, laughing, and having the best time of your life,” Blair said.

YoungLife has taken a year to start at Lafayette, and the arrival has Blair and Liscio extremely excited.

“We’re so excited for it to actually be happening, with our amazing leaders,” Blair said.

After just two short weeks, YoungLife has been a success.

“We’ve had an incredible response,” Liscio said.

YoungLife meets most Thursday nights at 7 p.m. at Henry Liscio’s home and there is only one requirement to be a part of YoungLife.

“The only requirement is that you go to Lafayette,” Liscio said.

Other than going to Lafayette, anyone can go to YoungLife. For more information, visit http://www.younglife.org/us  and be sure to go to YoungLife on Thursday nights for a great experience.
