Since July, members of the Rockwood School District high school marching bands have been practicing and reviewing their shows for the school year. Tonight, all four high schools in the district will meet at Eureka High School to perform their shows for family members and friends.
The Rockwood Review, an annual event for the marching bands, is a free preview of each school’s show. The students of each marching band are able to see other bands execute what they’ve been working on all throughout the summer.
Beginning at 7 p.m., the high schools individually perform a run-through of their show. Afterwards, the students of each band gather in Eureka’s Commons to meet students from other schools and eat pizza.
“It’s a nice showcase for the family and friends to preview each band’s fall show,” Brad Balog, Lancer Regiment Director, said of Rockwood Review.
Madi Herrbolt, a marching band senior, adds, “It’s a good way to see what the season’s going to be like, and it’s fun to watch the other shows.”
The Lancer Regiment will preview their show, entitled Masquerade, tonight at Eureka at 7 p.m., performing music selections from the 1994 movie Interview with the Vampire.
