A giddy teenage girl bursting with life, freshman Maggy Hardy has a true talent for painting and drawing. Art has always been a big part throughout Hardy’s life, and the young artist hopes to one day to turn her passion into a career.
“I really hope art has a lot to do with my future,” Hardy said. “I wish to attend Chicago Art Institute or another school that has a great visual and performing arts department.”
Going to museums and art shows, Hardy has always loved to look for the messages and meanings behind each piece shown. These pieces, as well as friends and many other artist such as Alex Paradee, influence Hardy. She can spend anywhere from a few days to months finishing a drawing or painting.
“When I start working I don’t want to stop, but it’s hard to find time to sit down and continue with where you left off,” Hardy said.
Hardy has been featured in a few of the Rockwood School District Art Shows, but is now working on various pieces for her friends.
“I’m currently working on a painting of Lady Gaga for my good friend, and I’m so excited for him to see it!” Hardy said.
