Weekly sports update: Dec. 9-Dec. 15

Boys Basketball: The basketball team played Parkway Central on Tuesday Dec. 2, and lost 53-52, with the Colts scoring a buzzer beater. On Friday Dec. 13, the Lancers played district rival Rockwood Summit at the first home game of the year and won 62-55. This upcoming week, the Lancers play against Eureka on Friday Dec. 20 at Lafayette for Coaches Against Cancer night.

Boys Wrestling: The boys competed at the Wentzville Holt Wrestling tournament this past weekend, with Connor Campbell, Cameron Kopf, Aiden Italiano, Blake Nelson, Michael Rowe and Clayton Covert all taking first in their respective weight classes.

Girls Basketball: The Lady Lancers played at Hazelwood Central on Dec.10, and were defeated 46-30. On Dec. 13, the team played district rival Rockwood Summit and in a hard fought game lost 60-56 in overtime. On Dec. 20, the Lady Lancers take on the Eureka Wildcats at home at 5:30 p.m. for Coaches Against Cancer night.

Girls Swimming: On Dec. 12, the Lady Lancers defeated Parkway Central 98-88. The girls swimming and diving team will continue their meets after winter break.

Girls Wrestling: The girls wrestling team competed in the Wentzville Liberty Invitational on Saturday Dec. 14. In their respective weight classes, Faith Cole and Josette Partney won first, Seraphina Blackmon received 2nd and Deshiya Houston received 3rd.

Ice Hockey: On Dec. 9, the Lancers played Chaminade and lost 4-1. However, they beat the Kirkwood Pioneers on Saturday Dec. 14 with a tied final score of 2-2. This upcoming week, the hockey team plays Fort Zumwalt East at the Chesterfield Sports Complex at 7:50 pm.
