Spring sports to compete in State competitions

The 2017-2018 school year is coming to a close, and that means the 2018 spring sports teams are wrapping up their seasons with District, Sectional and State tournaments. Here’s an update on how the Lancers have fared this season and a schedule of upcoming State competitions:
- Baseball finished the regular season with a 13-9 record. After defeating Marquette 8-0 in the District Championship game, the Lancers moved onto the State Championship Tournament. They will play Vianney in the first round of the State tournament at 4 p.m. at St. John Vianney High School on May 22.
- Boys golf had two individuals qualify for the State Tournament. Junior Max Kreikemeier placed 14th with 151 strokes over two rounds, and sophomore Geoff Ladue placed 65th with 162 strokes.
- Boys lacrosse finished the regular season with an 8-9 record. They fell just short of John Burroughs in the first round of the State tournament losing 11-9.
- Boys tennis finished the regular season with a 4-12 record. After beating Eureka in the first round of the District Tournament, the Lancers fell to Marquette in the District semi-finals 5-0.
- Boys track finished the season as Suburban West Conference Champions and placed second as a team at the District Meet. After competing at the Sectional Meet, they had 10 individuals qualify for State at Jefferson City High School on May 25 and 26.
- Boys volleyball defeated Kirkwood to win the District Championship on May 15, and they have moved onto the State semi-finals. They will play Vianney on May 22 at Webster Groves at 4 p.m. If they win, they will play for the State Championship against the winner of the Eureka vs. SLUH game on May 24 at 7:30 p.m.
- Girls lacrosse finished the regular season with a 16-6 record. The Lady Lancers defeated Northwest Cedar Hill 17-1 in the first round of the State Tournament. Their next game is on May 22 at 6 p.m. against St. Teresa’s at St. Teresa’s.
- Girls soccer had a regular season record of 12-5. The team defeated Marquette in the first round of the District Tournament, but they fell to Eureka 2-0 in the District Championship game.
- Girls track placed first at the District Championship Meet with seven events winning District titles. After competing in the Sectional Meet, the Lady Lancers have 11 individuals who will be competing for their respected State titles at Jefferson City High School on May 25 and 26.
- Water Polo finished the regular season with a 12-15-1 record. The Lancers defeated Oakville in the first round of the State playoffs, but their season was ended by Ladue, as the Lancers lost 17-2.
