Marketplace Craft Fair raises funds for band program for 20 years

The 20th annual Marketplace Craft Fair will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The fair, held by Band Boosters, raises money for Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Lancer Regiment, Home Court Advantage, Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and Winter Color Guard. All of the proceeds go to many of the fees that these music programs need to compete and perform their best, such as hotel and charter bus fees, prop design, senior scholarships, show design and many other costly fees.

“It is a mission to support music programs in our school” Marketplace Co-Chair Eileen Ladue said.

This event, which will be held in the Gym and the Main Commons, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Over 100 local businesses and vendors, as well as crafters, will be selling items for a “special someone on your holiday shopping list” according to Ladue. Items that will be available for clothing, accessories, health, beauty and fitness products and various handmade goods.

Not only will items be available for purchase, but there is a clothing donation that will be collected in the front of the school and will be given to Savers.

New to this year’s fair, a silent auction will also be held. Items can be bid on by visiting with an attendant during the fair or going to the auction website. There will also be a raffle, which accepts both cash, credit and debit cards.

In addition to shopping, there will also be Papa Johns and Chick-Fil-A sandwiches for purchase at the concession stand, a bake sale will take place and Vox Solus will perform.
