Lafayette reinvents schedule changing procedures

The schedule changing process has greatly changed for this 2017-2018 school year.

On the first day of school, the only schedule changes that will be allowed are if he or she has been scheduled for a blank hour, two classes in one hour, the student has not met the prerequisites for the  course or if he or she has already received a credit for that course. All students that have these kind of problems with their schedules, teachers are to send them to the counselling office.

For any schedule changes that are not related to the reasons above will be made August 17 through August 21 through an online form.

Instead of  making an appointment with his or her counselor, students will fill out a form by using a QR code found in every classroom or by clicking here.

This new method of only submitting a form online also diminish the need for appointments, causing less missed class time

According to Stephanie Dolan, Guidance Office Secretary, the new system was created in effort to reduce paper use and to decrease student wait time.

I think it has been very well received because it is quick, you can do it at home. The only little glitch would be if it gets backed up and we don’t get back to you right way. If that happens, all we ask is that the students be patient, but otherwise people really seem to be enjoying it,” Dolan said.
