Varsity girls tennis has had many accomplishments this year such as qualifying for State.

The State tournament begins on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. in Springfield, MO. The girls will head out Thursday morning to get an early start on the day.

According to sophomore Laney Tvrdik, the team’s biggest accomplishment this year was purely qualifying for State and beating St. Joseph’s Academy.

“I am extremely excited to be going to State this season with some of my closest friends,” Tvrdik said. “I think our teams have a really good shot at winning State; we are going to have some great matches.”

Looking back on the season, Tvrdik said, “I like how close our tennis team has gotten over the season. [If I could go back to the beginning of the season] I would tell myself to give it my all and to take advantage of the time I have with these girls.”

Tvrdik hopes for some good competition at State, to make new memories with her teammates and the honor of taking home a State championship title.
