Scales commits to Alabama

Roll Tide.

After months of decision making and college visits, junior Tight End Brendan Scales made a final statement, committing to the University of Alabama on Friday Apr. 17.

Scales received offers from over 10 schools, including College Football powerhouses such as Michigan State, Notre Dame, and the University of Wisconsin.

While the Crimson Tide boast a terrific track record of their own in the sport, Scales also considered the location of the school, as well as the community around it when committing to the school.

“(Tuscaloosa) is a really great town. They have a lot of hospitality down there” he said.

Scales was recruited Bobby Williams, former St. Louis resident and current Tight End/Special Teams coach for the Crimson Tide.

After being shown various game tapes, Williams contacted head coach Nick Saban to bring Scales down to the campus for a weekend.

While Alabama arguably has the largest football program out of all the schools who contacted Scales, he felt that he would have the best opportunity as a player by attending the university.

“Coach (Saban) told me that I have really good shot at starting in my freshman year” he said.
