Kirkwood comes out ahead in round two ending Lafayette’s season

The Lancers once again fall to the Kirkwood Pioneers in the second round of football playoffs after a final score of 24-7.
The ability to jump ahead by the Pioneers ultimately brought about a lead that the Lancers would not be able to overcome. Midway through the first quarter came the first score of the game, a touchdown pass that went for 89 yards put the Pioneers up early that Lafayette could never recover from.
By the time the first half came to close the Pioneers had added an additional score, another touchdown, making the halftime score 14-0 in favor of the Pioneers. In the second half the Pioneers added ten more points while the Lancers only added seven more points , their only points of the game, leaving the final score at 24-7.
The Lancers finished their season at 7-4.
However, when Lafayette did score, the Lafayette single season rushing touchdown record was broken by Tanner Grimm. Grimm finished the season with 24 touchdowns.
