Henle Holmes Invitational victory continues Lancer’s streak

Henle Holmes Invitational is a two day track event which took place at Parkway Central. Because Lafayette won this event three years in a row, it was expected for Lafayette to come out on top once again.

On day one of the meet Lafayette cranked out a total of 43 points to put them in first place. Although Lafayette was excited about their new position, it was a rigorous day for the Lancers and many of the athletes, whom felt exhausted.

Senior Alvin Houston said, “Day one really helped us to motivate ourselves going into the second day.”

On day two of the meet Lafayette took first place with an overall score of 137 points, allowing the Lancers to continue their streak of four consecutive years of winning the Henle Holmes Invitational.

Houston’s performance aided Lafayette with the first place win by placing second in the 400M with the time of 50.0 seconds. The Lancers are proud of taking the win in this meet; they hope to have the same drive throughout the season.
