Varsity boys basketball practices, games affected by school cancellations
Winter sports have been inconvenienced by the week of school cancellations, particularly varsity boys basketball. Players were unable to practice or compete for much of the past week.
After winning 3 out of their 4 games at the Meramec Holiday Tournament, the boys basketball team looks to continue their hot streak after a previously scheduled game against Kirkwood. The game was originally on Jan. 6 but has since been postponed to Feb. 17 due to the recent inclement weather.
Highlights by the Lancers from the three wins at the Holiday Tournament included a 23 point performance by senior Nate Messer against Washington, along with a compiled 29 rebounds by the team as a whole against Vianney.
The Lancers’ next matchup will take place at 7 p.m. against their fellow Suburban West rivals, the Eureka Wildcats. Lafayette’s defense will have to contain current team scoring leaders Mason Bendingo and Conner Walden if they plan on bringing home a win.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
