Seniors take trip to the zoo, freshmen give back to the community
April 30, 2014
On Wednesday, April 23, every student in the school was involved in separate grade level activities.
For the first year, freshmen volunteered for service projects, while sophomores attended an in-school career fair, juniors took the ACT and seniors went to the zoo.
The freshman class were divided into groups and placed into sessions where they worked on a service project that benefits local organizations in the community. One of these projects, for example, was making tied fleece blankets.
“The freshmen did a great job, and put a lot of effort into each session they attended,” Associate Principal Mandy Lewis said.
While the underclassman were hard at work, seniors took a laid-back field trip to the St. Louis Zoo where they were able to look at all the animals, pet the sting rays and visit the petting zoo.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
