Powder Puff: Battle of the upper class women
The most anticipated football game of the year has finally arrived, and no it’s not the Battle of 109 or the Marquette game. Tonight at 7 p.m. on the home football field the Senior Women will be facing off against the juniors.
Powder Puff has become a Homecoming Week tradition that most girls look forward to the whole year. What most people don’t realize is the time that goes into it.
For Senior Women, FACS teachers Lauren Arnet and Erin Hagglund weeks in advance are in charge of ordering jerseys along with hosting meetings after school. The senior girls are then required to participate in at least two practices if they want to compete in the game.
The juniors don’t follow such an intensive schedule, with only one optional practice sponsor Todd Decker will be quickly filling in all the girls with plays in the back gym before the actual game starts. Dad volunteers will also be with each team.
Not only is to fun to watch the girls brawl it out on the field, but at halftime Male Escadrille will be performing.
Senior Escadrille captains Allison Token, Courtney Poppell and Logan Edwards have been working with the boys for the past two weeks on their routine. The music follows the 90’s Homecoming week theme but also including popular songs from this year.
