To instruct eighth grade students on their upcoming freshman year, Lafayettewill be hosting Curriculum night on Wednesday, January 9 at 7 p.m.
The evening will start off with a parent and student meeting in the theater. Assisstant Principal Colleen Fields will give a presentation on what to expect at Lafayette. This will include information on classes, lockers and graduation requirements.
Afterwards, Amy White and Megan Eisenhour, language arts teachers, will give a short presentation on the Advanced Learning and Research Presentation (ALARP) classes. Students and parents can then look through the booths in the commons which will feature clubs, athletic teams and academic booths.
The night will mainly consist of introducing the incoming freshman to life at LHS and how things work.
“The night is mainly just about saying ‘Here’s what we got! Here’sLafayette,” Fields said.
Fields recommends incoming freshman not to focus on just one thing. She said that high school, especially freshman year, is a time to explore all Lafayette has to offer and find what you like.
