Boys basketball competes in 14th annual Webster Classic
Webster Groves will host the 14th Annual Webster Classic this week. The squads in the tournament consist of Miller Career, SLUH, Lee’s Summit North, Webster Groves, Hazelwood West, Maplewood Richmond-Heights and Marquette.
The Lancers first game will be against Lee’s Summit North. Last year, the Lancers were defeated in the first round of the tournament by Maplewood Richmond-Heights, who then went on to take home the tournament championship.
If the boys can come out on top in the first match, they will advance to play the winner of the SLUH, Miller Career game.
They lost their first regular season game last Friday to St. Charles West High, but the Lancers are prepared to come out on the court and bring their “A game”. Execution will be an important part of a successful game and advancing in the tournament.
The Lancers will tip-off at 7 pm on Thursday night against the Broncos.
