After the first school wide-canned food drive in Lafayette history, ROTC instructor Col. Mike Berenc announced LHS donated a total of 2,080 cans to Operation Food Search.
“With 100 collection barrels distributed throughout the building, we had an effective participation rate of 45 percent– a modest but necessary first start to hopefully a long running tradition at Lafayette,” Berenc said.
The cans will go to the organization who will then distribute the food to pantries which are in critical need of donations during this time of the year, Berenc said.
“We look forward to next year’s campaign and know Lafayette will continue to make a meaningful difference for people in need,“ he said.
