The poster for Guitar Olympics hangs over the whiteboard in the guitar teacher Traci Bolton's classroom. Although this was the first year of the event, Bolton said the idea started last year. "We were stacking our footrests, and we thought we should make it a competition. Then we thought, what else could we do? We could do cable wrapping and getting picks out of the guitar. We started thinking about all the things we do in class, so we started making events," Bolton said.

"Dark Arts" essays range from a variety of topics that not the typical person would argue in favor of. Some include arguing for a one-child policy in the United States, allowing multiple spouses and the justification of mass murder. “We try to come up with prompts that almost nobody would agree with, so that they are forced to come up with an argument using those powers of persuasion,” language arts teacher Jeffrey Landow said.

At the Freshman Orientation on Aug. 19, 2021, Class of of 2025 members were required to wear masks as they learned about the school. The mask mandate has been in place for a year since the return to school on Nov. 12, 2020, following the COVID-19 outbreak. There was a short break from the mandate in the summer of 2021 when infection numbers in the area dropped significantly.
