Wrestling wins All-Suburban Tourney
January 12, 2017
The dominance for the wrestling program continues with a big team win in the All-Suburban wrestling tournament that took place this past weekend at Hazelwood Central. The squad had 10 of it’s members place at the tournament. 7 out of the 10 placed in the top 3 for there respective weight class.
The squad really impressed Head Coach Jon Sumner who had really nice things to say about the team. “I feel like our kids had a great tournament, and it’s really a nice stepping stone going on through the season. It will give us great momentum going into the second half of the season as we go compete in Jefferson City and Winnetonka, which are some pretty tough tournaments with the best teams from across the state. It should be two pretty good weekends.”
The upcoming travel tournaments will show the team’s worth against the best teams around the State, not just here in the St. Louis. If they wrestle out of town like they have for the in town tournaments, everything should be just alright for the team.
