Girls swimming and diving fall to kryptonite Marquette Mustangs

In a season with several wins, the Lafayette girls swimming and diving team met its kryptonite once more, as they failed to beat Marquette for the second time this season, losing by a score of 110-76.
The team’s only two losses this season have come against Marquette.
Delaney Thomas won the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.87 and the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 53.35. Franceska Petrosino won the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:00.06.
Finally, the team of Catherine Behl, Petrosino, Thomas and Claire Van Biljon won the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:41.26, over ten seconds faster than the second place relay team.
Still, outside of the Marquette meets, the team has been doing very well. They defeated Mehlville 147-32, Ladue 128-58, Parkway South 141-44 and 166-69.
Their next meet is on the road against Parkway West on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 4:30 p.m.
