The Lady Lancer basketball team has been rolling to start the season. Before the team entered the MICDS Holiday Tournament, they were 5-1. Now, the team is 6-3 and snagged a fourth place finish at the MICDS Holiday Tournament.

The Lady Lancers played University City, Fort Zumwalt North and St. Charles. Lafayette beat University City 59-54, but couldn’t find their footing after that and lost to Fort Zumwalt North, 45-37 and to St. Charles 50-41.

Some notable performances include: Sydnie Wolf vs. University City scored 15 points, grabbed four rebounds and got four steals; Maddy Devereux vs. Fort Zumwalt North scored eight points and collected two rebound; and Jordyn Terry vs. St. Charles scored 11 points, gathered two rebound and swatted three balls.

The team is looking strong through their first nine games and is a sure bet to be a threat to some top tier teams. But, the team is lacking in assists with Tara Robbe and Wolf tied for team highs both with nine and the highest shooting percentage on the team is 46 percent which belongs to Wolf. If the team can work on shooting percentage from all points on the court and sharing the ball more the team will be a force to be reckoned with.

Robbe and Wolf have been leading the way for the Lady Lancers so far. Robbe has scored the most points so far this season, 88, and is averaging 9.8 points per game, which is also a team high. She also has 61 rebounds and 16 blocks along with nine assists. Wolf has scored 74 points this year and is averaging 8.2 points per game and, as mentioned before, is leading the team in shooting percentage with 46. Wolf also has 24 rebounds and 13 steals.

The teams next game comes against Parkway South on Jan. 6 at Parkway South starting at 5:30 p.m.
