Performing well at a recent meet, the Lafayette Lady Lancers swim team has had an outstanding season so far. They blew Mehlville out of the water, as they took first place in every event earning a total of 142 points.
In the 200 medley relay, junior Kendall Hansen, senior Claire Kirchoefoer, senior Olivia VanLue, and junior Katherine Lucken placed first. Freshman Franki Petrosino finished first in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Chloe Wright won the 200 IM (individual medley) and freshman Delaney Thomas won the 50 Freestyle. Freshman Ellie Christie did well, winning the 1 Meter Diving competition. Other winners include: Elle Johnson (100 butterfly), Franki Petrosino (100 freestyle), Claire kirchhoefer (500 freestyle).
They remained undefeated until they faced off against Marquette; unfortunately, they lost by just 10 points. Despite their tough lose they still did well. Some of the top performers where sophomore Lily Vanbiljon, junior Kendall Hansen and Kirchoefoer. Following that, the Lady Lancers swim team headed onto the Parkway South invite to face some of the top finishing teams in the state. The Lady Lancers placed 1st overall.
The team seems to be having a fantastic season so far and will continue if they keep up this level of competitiveness.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
