On Friday, April 11, at 7 p.m., Lafayette students will be performing in the annual Guitar Festival featuring Tuesday Night Rock Band, Wednesday Jam Band, Monday Jam Band, AcLab Country Club and Guitar Ensemble. Admission is free.

Baseball outscored by Summit in conference matchup

Sliding into third base, senior centerfielder Michael Callahan moves into scoring position during their 11-5 loss to Rockwood Summit April 15. The Lancers lost both games in their series with the Falcons.

As the ball sailed into a gap in left field, senior catcher Wyatt Wathen rounded the bases for a triple to put Lafayette in a position to tie up the game against Rockwood Summit.

However, the Lancers were unable to capitalize after this moment and went on to lose the game 17-6 to the Falcons. Rockwood Summit won the series against Lafayette and scored 28 runs over the two games. 

The first game of the series, located at Lafayette, ended 11-5. Junior first baseman Jonah Nosovitch hit a two run home run in the bottom of the second inning to put the Lancers in the lead. The inning was the only inning of the game that Lafayette was in the lead.

In the second game, the Lancers started out strong by scoring 5 runs over the first three innings and holding the Falcons to zero. The score quickly changed in the bottom of the third inning with Rockwood Summit scoring 6 runs to take the lead. Lafayette was unable to regain the lead for the rest of the game. 

Lafayette (7-7) will play a double-header at Webster Groves (4-10) against the Statesmen April 19.
