Baseball
Last week, the Lancers went 1-2, playing Parkway West twice and Webster Groves once. On April 24, Lafayette played away at Parkway West, losing 6-5. The following day, they would play the Longhorns again, this time at home, winning 4-2. At the bottom of the 4th inning, the game was tied 2–2 but the Lancers scored twice in the 6th inning to see out a win. After this, the team lost a close match to Webster Groves 4-3. The Lancers currently hold a 15-10 record. Lafayette looks to play Francis Howell on Monday the 29, before playing a double header in the Battle of 109 against Eureka.
Boys Golf
On April 27, Lafayette lost to Pattonville at the Crystal Spring Golf Course. The following day, the Lancers participated in the Rockwood Quad tournament. Lafayette scored 457, Marquette came 2nd, scoring 46, Summit was 3rd with 485, and Eureka came last with 497. Sophomore Austin Rinkenberger finished as a medalist with a 4 under par. The Lancers will face Marquette next week on May 2, and compete in the Farmington Invitational at the Crown Point Golf Course May 3.
Boys Lacrosse
The Lancers played one game this week, beating Holt, 14-5. The team looks to play their last game against Francis Howell on May 1. They are currently 9-4.
Girls Lacrosse
On April 24, the Lady Lancers grabbed their second win of the season in a blowout 14-1 win against Pattonville. Senior Melissa Pinkstaff finished the game with 7 shots and 5 goals. Later that week, Lafayette faced Eureka in the Battle of 109, losing 17-4. The Lady Lancers now hold a 2-8 record. This week, the team looks to face Villa Duchesne away. Last time the teams played, Lafayette won 22-11.
Girls Soccer
The Lady Lancers won the Orchard Farm Tournament. They beat Lutheran St. Charles 7-0, Orchard Farm 1-0 and then beat Fort Zumwalt in penalty kicks for the title. Later, the Lady Lancers would beat Summit 1-0. LHS has two more games this week. They will face Eureka in the Battle of 109 at home. This home game is April 30 and will start at 6 p.m. They will then face Timberland at home May 3 at 6 p.m.
Boys Tennis
The Lancers played away at Parkway West, on April 24. The Longhorns won against Lafayette 9-0. The Lancers followed this match with a 7-2 loss at home versus Kirkwood, April 25. The team holds a 3-8, and are currently on 4 game losing streak.
Boys Track
The Lancers won the Parkway South Invitational. LHS had eight event wins. In field, seniors Christian Erkert, Matt Hoeft and Isaac Jovcevski finished 1st in javelin, long jump and triple jump, respectively. Senior Jack Robeson won the 3200-meter, senior Tabari Tinsley won the 100-meter and Jocvevski also won the 110-meter hurdles. In the 200-meter relay, Hoeft, Tinsley, senior David Marshall and junior Santino Stith finished 1st. Hoeft, Marshall, Stith and junior Carl King also won the 400-meter relay.
Girls Track
At the Eureka Invitational, the Lady Lancers had several top finishes. Sophomore Chloe Tabb broke a school record in the triple jump, winning the event. In the distance medley, senior Natalie Barnard, juniors Avery Brown and Lauren Pauls and freshman Alexis Sandberg finished 2nd. Junior Lily Vellines placed 6th in pole vault and in the sprint medley the Lady Lancer relay comprising of sophomore Kelly Archambeault and freshmen Cora Cleveland, Sydney Everett and Emma Smith also finished 6th.
Boys Volleyball
In Conference play, the Lancers went undefeated. They first swept Oakville and then beat Lindbergh 3-1. At the Lafayette Invitational, the Lancers were 3-1. They swept Chaminade, Rockhurst and O’Fallon. They would lose to Vianney 2-1 in their final match. During the invitational, senior Lucas Tran got his 500th kill and senior Kyle Kubasta hit 1,000 assists. The Lancers have three games this week. They will face Parkway Central and Parkway South away on April 29 and 30. At home, the Lancers play Northwest Cedar at 5:30 p.m. May 2.
Boys Water Polo
The Lancers beat Ladue 16-6 last week. Then they finished 2nd at the John Burroughs Tournament. They beat John Burroughs 13-2, Parkway South 15-8, De Smet 11-10, Clayton 16-2 and would lose the championship game against Oakville 14-6.
Girls Water Polo
The Lady Lancers started last week with a 15-5 win over Ladue. The Lady Lancers finished 3rd at the Lafayette Tournament. They beat Pattonville 21-7 and Ladue 9-4. They would lose to Parkway North 12-6 and Marquette 11-4.
