Girls swimming takes second at Kirkwood Invitational, boys wrestling notches another tournament win

Boys Basketball
The Lancers fell to Liberty, 65-63 on Jan. 13. The Lancers now stand at 7-5 for the season. Junior Matt Haefner keeps tallying points for the team with a total of 210 points. On Jan. 18 at 6 p.m, the Lancers will take on the Lindbergh Flyers at home and then will face Parkway South on Jan. 21 at home at 7 p.m.
Girls Basketball
In this week’s only game on Jan. 13, the Lady Lancers went up against the Seckman Jaguars. After a close game, the Lancers won, 28-24, bringing their midseason record to 7-7. Senior Ana McLellan once again lead the team with ten points scored during the game. Senior Lily Zehner also had a strong showing, scoring eight points during the game. The next home game is Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. against Parkway South.
Hockey
The Lancers did not have a game this week. Currently sitting at a record of 3-11-3, the team takes on the 8-5-3 De Smet Spartans on Jan. 21 at 9:30 p.m. at Maryville Hockey Center.
Girls Swimming and Diving
The Lady Lancers took second place at the Kirkwood Invitational Tournament. Individual results included the team of sophomores Megan Bilsland, Ellie Kipper, freshman Janna Moellenhoff and senior Dylan Moulton taking second place in the 200-meter medley. Moulton also captured first in the 100-meter backstroke and Bilsland took second place in the same race. In the 100-meter breaststroke, Moellenhoff took second. The team finished second place overall, with a total of 272 points. The Lady Lancers will face off next against Marquette on Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m. at Marquette.
Boys Wrestling
The Lancers took first in the St. Charles West Invitational on Jan. 14. First place individual winners included senior Tommy Hagan, sophomore Andrew Weir, junior Gavin Shoulders, freshman Jackson Tenny and senior Dylan Roth. The Lancers next match is Jan. 19 at home at 5 p.m. against Seckman High School.
Girls Wrestling
The Lady Lancers were scheduled to participate in the St. Charles West Invitational, but it was canceled due to inclement weather. On Jan. 19, the team will face Seckman at home at 5 p.m. On Jan. 21, the Lady Lancers will be competing in the Washington “Iron Jay” Tournament.
