Led by seniors Kirk Bradley and Nick Olejnik, Lancer wrestling looks to continue their undefeated campaign against Eureka on Jan. 16.
Bradley and Olejnik have dominated in their final year, going a combined 12-0 and helping Lafayette to a 7-0 overall record in head-to-head matches.
Despite the strong performances of the upperclassmen, Olejnik credits much of the team’s success to the team’s youth.
“We’ve got a lot of young kids who are stepping up and wrestling well,” said Olejnik.
Olejnik believes the Lancers are still underrated because of their younger squad.
“A lot of people still don’t know us, even though we are doing so well, just because we’re so young,” said Olejnik.
Olejnik, who wraps up his Lancer career on Jan. 25 against Parkway South, aims to go out on top.
“If I work hard and wrestle well, then I can beat anyone,” said Olejnik.
