For the first time in her high school career, four year Lafayette golfer senior Claire Norfleet represented her school at the 2011 girls golf Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) State Championship on Oct. 17-18.
“It was a great opportunity to be able to represent my team at State,” Norfleet said.
Due to lightning and storming, most of the first day of the competition was canceled. Norfleet teed off twice before the rest of the day was called off.
The following day, Norfleet played a full eighteen holes, shooting a 96.
“It wasn’t the best I ever played, but it was a great experience and I had a lot of fun,” said Norfleet.
Lindsey Eisenreich of Rockwood Summit shot a 72, taking first at the State Championship.
