This MLB season has definitely been one of the most memorable of all time. Between the best play by a pitcher of all time from Mark Buehrle on Opening Day, the overwhelming dominance of pitching, including an abnormal amount of no-hitters, the Cincinnati Reds winning the NL Central for the first time since 1995 and the Texas Rangers win a playoff series for the first time in franchise history, this season is one to remember (although Cardinals fans are trying not to).
I am probably one of only a handful of people still watching baseball in St. Louis. In fact, I think very few people in St. Louis are even aware of the fact that baseball is still being played. That being said, the League Championship Series’ look to be offering a World Series that is actually going to make us interested.
The Phillies and Yankees have dominated over the past few years and quite frankly, I am kind of sick of it. The past few seasons have only proved that money can actually buy you a World Series ring. However, if the Rangers and Giants both advance to the World Series, we will get to see a team that has never been to the World Series (Rangers) and a team that hasn’t one a championship in their current location (the Giants moved out of New York after the 1957 season).
I am tired of watching my Cardinals go belly up and then waiting for yet another predictable outcome of the World Series. I have jumped on the Texas Rangers bandwagon. I hope other fans start to do the same in an effort to stop the evil empire that is the New York Yankees.
