Lancers react to new school pictures

School pictures for the 2017-2018 school year were distributed during all three lunch shifts on Sept. 18. We hit the Commons to find out what students really thought about their portraits this year. Retakes are scheduled for Oct. 9 for seniors and Oct. 10 for underclassmen. Watch for details on lancerfeed.press!

The legislation being introduced in Missouri and throughout the US demonizes the LGBTQ+ community. By attending drag shows and other events hosted by members of the LGBTQ+ community, it shows support and validates their experiences.

While Missouris government aims to allow citizens to carry firearms, the federal court requires states to have proper gun regulation because of the violence caused by them. The current laws that are in place are not enough.

Though we all deserve breaks, people have to persevere and work hard to achieve their goals. Students need to prepare for the real world by taking on challenges instead of going the easy route, especially as the next generation.

We need to stop being lazy, quitting when things become difficult

A can of tomato soup was thrown at Sunflowers, one of Vincent Van Goghs paintings, in protest. While the environmental movement needs to be acknowledged now, the decision to protest by attempting to ruin a painting is ineffective.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have already been 7,884 deaths by gun violence this year. Gun violence is a very big problem and better strategies need to be prioritized to stop the violence.
