After months of anticipation and rumors, Apple has finally introduced the latest iPhone, the iPhone 5. Yes, it’s the latest of the phenomena since Apple has introduced their first iPhone, but is it really worth the bucks compared to the last model, the iPhone 4s?
When comparing the iPhone 4s to the iPhone 5, there are some definite differences from the physical aspect of the phones. The new iPhone 5 is taller than the 4s with the same width. The 5 is thinner than the 4s for convenience. These features were altered so the screen could be bigger on the 5. Surprisingly, the 5 is lighter that the 4s by almost 1 ounce. That’s a pretty significant difference considering the size.
The new iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4s have the same camera, except for the few features added to the 5. It’s nothing major, though. The battery life is very similar between the two models; the only difference being on the 5, you can browse longer and it has a longer standby time.
Both the iPhones come in the same two colors, black and white.
A major difference that has been causing controversy across the country is the new power cord. The iPhone 5 has the 8-pin Lightning connector compared to the standard 30-pin lightning connector of the rest of the iPhone products. If you happen to purchase the new iPhone, and you have docking stations or an iHome, you have to buy a $30 adapter.
So, is it really worth the buying the new iPhone 5? Maybe. If you have the 4s, I would say wait it out. Apple will come out with something even bigger and better. Any older model, you could probably afford to splurge on the iPhone 5, but keep in mind that Apple has lowered the prices on the iPhone 4($00.00) and the iPhone 4s($99.99), and this way you do not have to spend money on an adapter.
