I don’t know if its fact or fiction that frozen yogurt is healthier for you than ice cream, but it sure tastes good, especially when it is self-served and you have an entire topping bar to chose from.
At Orange Leaf, located by Five Guys and Lifetime, you can chose from nearly a dozen frozen yogurt flavors by pulling the lever and watching fresh frozen yogurt ooze out into your cup.
Each flavor has its own lever to pull, and in between each pair there is a third lever which fuses the two flavors into one.
There flavors range from peanut butter, cookies and cream, coffee, wedding cake, cheesecake, passion fruit, red velvet and many more.
But what really caught my attention was the boatload of toppings to choose from. There are about 35 toppings. These even include healthy choices like dried fruits, pecans, almonds and granola.
For those looking to go all out they can pick out from gummy worms, Oreos, Butterfinger, Cocoa Pebbles, M&M’s, Graham Crackers, jelly beans, Captain Crunch and a bunch more.
I was a little overwhelmed at first so I decided to stick with a peanut butter and coffee yogurt combination with a dash of almonds, a few pieces of Snickers and a few crumbled pieces of Heath bar.
After the topping bar you find yourself at the register where you must place your cup of yogurt on a miniature scale and they determine the price by how much it weighs out to.
Sounds like a drug deal, right? Which it might as well be because of how addicting and how many different combinations of toppings and yogurt you can chose from.
So I paid and sat down on a bright orange couch, looking around at the equally brightly painted neon walls with little white orbed and wavy textured lights that hung from the ceilings by thin silver strings.
The wall where you can chose from the flavors of yogurt is decked out in sparkling, squared tiles and there are a few little areas to sit down and hangout.
There are even two computers that you can get on and surf the web with while your inhaling your yogurt.
Besides the fact that the dude at the counter had a bit of an attitude, which I guess I don’t blame him because it was a Saturday night and there were a bunch of people in there, Orange Leaf is a nice little place to grab some customizable yogurt that is sure to satisfy any body’s sweet tooth.
