After a power surge caused a loss of power for half the school, 3rd Hour was skipped while the admistration assessed the situation. The school schedule has now been modified for the rest of the afternoon. It is as follows:
3rd Hour: 12:26-1:01
5th Hour: 1:07-1:42
6th Hour: 1:48-2:22
7th Hour: 2:28-3:05
Originally it was planned to have the regular schedule for the rest of the day. However, due to it being the last day of school for many seniors, the schedule was changed.
Principal John Shaughnessy said the schedule was changed, “In order for them to get all their books turned in and last minute work that determined their final grade. Those that needed a 3rd Hour would not have a chance to do that.”
Rumors circulating about how close the administration was to cancelling the school day was squashed by Associate Principal Nisha Patel.
“We were not very close because we were still assessing what was going on. We had the fire marshall here, district personnel here, our only main concern at that point was lunch.. But it wasn’t like ‘ok it five minutes school is cancelled’, no not at all. That’s just a rumor, we always wait to see how things were going to happen,” she said.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
