On Jan. 29 the Sophomore Class hosted a trivia night in the Commons to raise money for graduation activites.
The Class of 2013 sold 61 tables for the event with eight people at each table. The funds added up to more than $1,300.
“[Language arts teacher] Cathy Dantin and her table won first prize in trivia,” Assistant Principal Kirti Mehrotra said.
The team earned a $200 cash prize. Second prize was $125.
Other funds were raised through basket raffles, a 50/50 drawing, a silent auction and games between rounds of trivia.
“There was a Mizzou basket, airline tickets, Blues tickets and a free stay in a condo for a week,” Mehrotra said.
Prizes were also awarded to the best decorated tables.
“The winning table was a Parisian table with an Eiffel tower and lights. It was actually two art teachers from another school,” Mehrotra said.
Junior Kyle Siebert also attended and had a table with a group of his friends.
“We didn’t do well trivia-wise, but we had a big feast to go along with our pic theme. We had ribs and fried chicken.”
