Friday Aug. 27 is the LHS football season opener against the Eureka Wildcats at Eureka High School.
Both LHS and EHS are anticipating heavy traffic and to reduce some of the congestion, shuttles are being set up to transport students to and from the game.
The first bus will leave LHS at 5:30 p.m. and another will leave at 5:45 p.m.
After that, the buses will run consistently before, during and after the game.
There is no cost for the shuttles, but organizers said passengers should try to get there early because they fill up quickly. The shuttles are open to anyone attending the game.
Last year there were four buses that left for the game, but only two that left from the game because many students found other rides.
Students who decide to drive to the game should anticipate lots of traffic, long lines and the chance of walking a distance to EHS.
When the lot is full, drivers will be asked to park either at Blevins Elementary, Rockwood’s Central Office and/or Central Office Annex. These locations will also have shuttles running to and from Eureka High School throughout the evening.
