Counselor Deborah Parker recently hosted the Repeat Boutique at Lafayette to assist girls who were looking for dresses.
When Parker’s daughter did not know what to do with a leftover bridesmaid dress, she suggested they sell it along with several other frocks in order to benefit charity organizations.
“It was my idea because my husband volunteers at Circle of Concern and they have more of a need now than they ever had in the past,” Parker said.
The boutique was open to the public on March 27, and then to the school on the following Monday and Tuesday.
“We had over 300 dresses donated. 328 to be exact. All sizes, all colors, some short some long, some were more party dresses and then others are more formal for prom and everybody just donated them and they could get a tax receipt if they wanted one,”Parker said.
All of the proceeds go to Circle of Concern and the left over dresses were donated to Epworth, a children’s home.
