The National Honor Society (NHS) officers have been chosen for the 2010-2011 school year. Voting took place at all three lunch shifts Monday-Friday last week.
NHS sponsor AnnMarie Gilman said, “All current NHS members had the opportunity to vote. We received about 57 ballots this year.”
The new officers are juniors Addie Holdmeyer, Maddie Johnson, Siri Kommareddy and Kristen Steege.
The officers are in charge of running NHS meetings and organizing the service projects for the year. At least one of the officers must be present at each service event.
At the induction ceremony for new members on May 8, officers made speeches to welcome the new inductees and led the traditional candlelight ceremony.
NHS officers oversee many of the behind-the-scenes aspects of the organization. Over the course of the school year, they are responsible for keeping the association running smoothly.
