Before attending her Homecoming dance in 2016, language arts teacher Cat Hill decided to eat at Taco Bell with her friends.
“We ate at Taco Bell in our outfits which was fun because we were way more dressed up than anyone there,” Hill said.
Hill attended St. Charles Christian Home Educators and went to the Homecoming dance with her best friends her sophomore year.
“My favorite moment was asking my friend to the dance,” Hill said. “The people I was with [were the best]. I am still friends with them.”
Hill said she remembers hearing old songs like Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen.
“I remember the DJ was really bad and they played a bunch of songs that were five years old at the time,” she said.
Hill wore a short, black and gray dress that night.
“I wore it with fishnet tights and seven-inch red heels, which I tripped in,” Hill said. “It was a memorable outfit.”
Now as a teacher, Homecoming is different than when she was in high school but she still enjoys it.
“For me I think it’s really cool when I see people making [Homecoming] memories with their friends,” she said.
