AP Studio paints mural in Science Hall
Lauren Sakowski’s AP Studio class started painting a mural the week of May 14 in the science are. The work is being completed by the juniors in the class who have already completed their AP Exam.
“I’m simply a worker bee for them,” Sakowski said.
Discussions about the piece and brainstorming occurred as a class, but the inspiration for the final mural came from junior Laura Champion, head of the project. The students as a whole decided for something contemporary and inclusive to everyone and said something about the students themselves.
“As of now, its just green, with an arch and paint splatters, but there is a grand design. There is also going to be five silhouettes of people, with some fun patterns in those,” Sakowski said.
The mural will be done before the end of the school year. This is the third mural in Sakowski’s seven years.
