“I entered the Eco Sustainability Art Show for St. Louis Community College, and I won first place overall and first place from Lafayette. My piece is a portrait of my friend Jennifer. She is a big advocate for the ecosystem and a horticulturist, so I thought she would be the best person to feature in an ecosystem piece. I won a certificate and a $250 monetary award… I’m kind of in shock that I won. It doesn’t feel real to me. I keep thinking they made a huge mistake, and I should return my award, but I am very pleased to have won.” -Emma Harford
