Out and About: All American Computer Repair, a hidden tech repair gem
April 25, 2014
Nothing is worse to a teen than tech issues… you’re left without your dearest lifeline, and getting it back to an acceptable state will leave you with an empty wallet. With a little digging though, it’s possible to get your technology back into working condition without breaking the bank.
Located at 9920 Watson Rd., AA Computer Repair specializes in a wide variety of computer and iPhone repairs. For computers, this includes replacing the screen, replacing damaged keyboards, and repairing the DC Jack. The basics are taken care of with ease, and unusual issues with your computer are easily corrected as well.
The part that caught my attention, as I’m sure it would for many of us at Lafayette, is that AA Computer Repair specializes in fixing iPhones. And for a great price too.
After shattering my phone screen, I called AA Computer Repair and was greeted at the other end of the line by Andy, the founder of this small business. For a fair price of $55, he fixed my phone in a matter of 20 minutes right in front of me, the whole time maintaining a conversation. His hospitality was tremendous and he even took off $5 in exchange for a written review on his Google+ site. Not only that, but he worked with my schedule before his own; I couldn’t make it to his office before 7, and even though he closes down at 6, Andy readily offered to stay a little later to accommodate my schedule.
The location was actually pretty difficult to find. It was a little bit of a drive, about 30 minutes from Lafayette. The business does not have a building of its own, but rather is located in Suite 115 of building containing multiple small businesses. So it’s definitely “off the beaten path,” but this hidden gem is well worth the trip.
